BANDART Productions

BANDART Productions is a collaboration of Katalin Lengyel dancer-choreographer and Szabolcs Tóth-Zs. new media artist. Their first piece called Dancing Graffiti was created in Glasgow in 2013 and the same year it received the Jury’s Award of Antré Festival out of 200 pieces. In addition, in 2016 it received the Jury’s Special Prize in the 17th International Kleinskunstfestival in Germany out of 30 professional performances; moreover, they won the First Paderborner Performance Award in the International Kulturbörse Paderborn. It has been invited to international street art festivals, open-air music festivals, dance festivals, puppet festivals, mime festivals, events of new media institutions and corporate events. Their second piece called You-Topia was commissioned by the World Forum for Democracy and premiered in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in November 2014. Due to the success of You-Topia the Forum invited them again to create a new piece entitled as Hackocracy that they premiered in 2015 in Strasbourg. Recently their performance received the Golden Buzzer in the Hungary’s Got Talent tv show. They invented a special new media and dance workshop where participants can get to know the secret of their technique.

KATALIN LENGYEL

Katalin Lengyel is a contemporary dancer, choreographer and teacher. She owns an MA degree in literature and linguistics and two BA degrees in contemporary dance and pedagogy from the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. She won twice the danceWEB Europe Award in 2008 and in 2011. She has been traveling, making projects and performing all around the world and she is the artistic director of FRISSEK Minifestival in Hungary.

SZABOLCS TÓTH-ZS.

Szabolcs Tóth-Zs. is a new media artist. He studied computer programming and has an MA degree in media arts from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. He won the Oszkár Glatz Award for his diploma work in 2008. He has done small scale interactive installations, animations and large scale projections in diverse galleries and museums of Hungary and abroad.
